While some people think it is safe to say that Obama is going to win this election. I do not want to count my chickens before they hatch. Granted, something drastic would have to happen for him to lose, it is still not safe to call this election even with only four days left. With the outcome of this election weighing heavy on everyone's minds I'd like to take this moment reassure everyone that no matter what happens in this election, everything is going to be okay.
This is one of the things I immensely dislike about American elections. They are always so very negative. It is always one candidate telling you how horrible the other has been or is going to be if the are elected. The two candidates are always preaching about the doom that will befall the country of the opposing candidate is elected and has his way. It really the most aggravating thing of the whole process, to listen to each candidate and their supporters rail on and on. Our elections are really a sad commentary on Americans as a whole. How ridiculous we really are.
All of that aside, this very thing is what makes America so great. While it is hard to stand some people and their political opinions, it is what makes this country what it is. We are so divided in our politics we will never be in danger of leaning too far into any political extreme. I don't think that America will ever become so conservative that we'd be a fascist state and I don't think that we'd become so liberal that we'd become socialist. We just have such a diverse political spectrum that become either one of those kinds of countries would be impossible.
Our people disagree too much on politics for a political dictator would have a hard time staying in power. Despite dictators being an absolute leader in their chosen form of government, they depend on their people's happiness to remain in power. Do really think Adolf Hitler would have lasted very long if he didn't think about the Germans wanted. He understood that he was only in power because his people willed it, and it was his job to keep them happy. True, he murdered millions of people. Not just Jews either, he had Gays killed, and other 'ethnically inferior' people. He also had babies who were born with deformities and debilitating diseases euthanized. That last practice, of killing imperfect babies, he actually stopped in 1941, because a majority of his people were opposed to it. Hitler was ever mindful of his people's happiness.
Same with Lenin and Stalin. Do really think that U.S.S.R. would have lasted as long as it did if the Soviets were not happy? It cannot be argued that Stalin did some pretty cruel things while being the dictator of U.S.S.R. Yet, the majority of his people were happy under his control and the trusted him.
So, that brings me to this election. I do not think this country is going to go socialist, period. We may adopt a few socialist perks, but I doubt highly that this country will turn communist. Whoever is the next President of The United States will have to observe our rights. It is their sworn duty to uphold the Constitution and defend our rights.

It declares that governments are established to defend the rights of their people and they exist because the people they govern allow them to. It also states that when governments become violaters of these rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, it is the right of the people to abolish that government and establish a new one. It also say that we should not just abolish the government over trivial things and that if we are to destroy one form of government it has to be for good reason.
This simple statements proves to me without a doubt that this country will survive. We have such diversity in our politics that this country will not go quietly or willingly to any political extreme.
