I won't say much here, but I thought I'd ask a few questions and see your answers. I want you guys to be sincere and really think about these question and give me your thoughts. I really want to see what you all think.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Does something exist because we think it does? Or is there something else that makes an object or an idea real? Is there really any truth to "I think, therefore I am?"&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;What is it about yourself that defines you? What makes you real as a person? Is it your friends? Is it your family? Is it the actions you perform, the verbs you make? Is it the words you speak? Or is there something more that makes you who you are?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;What makes you human? What separates you from the animals? Is it the ability to comprehend the abstract? The intangible? Does the intangible really exist if you can't hold it in your hand?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;If rights exist and they are, indeed, undeniable. How can they be so easily removed from us? How can they be denied? How come the British have 13 rights in their Bill of Rights, and the Americans only have 10?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Like I said, I'm curious about your input. You don't have to answer every single one of them. I've been walking down the streets of my little town waving my rather large American Flag. I've caused quite a stir in Madisonville. How many people actually go out and stand up for their beliefs in such a way that draws so much attention to themselves. Few people today have that courage, to stand up and accept either the accolade of thousands or their criticism and disdain. Very few people indeed voluntarily subject themselves to that exposure.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Which is why I suppose why I have drawn the attention that I have. Especially when somebody calls the cops thinking that there might be something wrong with you. Yes, on the third day of my flag protest someone had called the cops to investigate what exactly it was I was doing walking down the street with Old Glory. The investigating officer was really friendly, he didn't exactly understand why he was sent down to talk to me. He did not have a problem with me walking up and down the streets with a flag. The whole incident&amp;nbsp; humored me greatly. It was some gratification to me, I was getting people's attention. As subsequent to being pulled over by the police, the editor of the Messenger, the local newspaper, ran out to take my picture and talk to me about what I was doing.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Which is why I am here writing. I am here to explain my position a little more fully. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I am a patriot, in the truest sense of the word. I believe in the freedom of mankind to choose for themselves a government that best represents their interest and I believe that we have certain rights that we have been granted that can never be removed us, no matter what others might try to do. I believe that everyone has the same rights to freedom, liberty, and happiness. No matter what the differences that separate us, we all deserve the same rights and indeed we have them. Even if others would like to deny it for reasons of their own.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This is what has compelled me to act. I love America for the reason that it is the country that best represents the spirit of patriotism, even when we have so much further that we can go to ensuring that every citizen of the United States has complete and irrevocable freedom. I see so many Americans who freely give up their freedom. They give up their liberty and they do not even realize that they are doing it. It greatly distresses me.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;What exactly am I talking about? What do I mean by saying that people are willingly giving up their freedom? I am talking about the people who do not think for themselves when it comes to matters of national importance. I am talking about the people who listen to the news networks like Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC, the people who allow other people like Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reliey, Glenn Beck, and Wolf Blitzer to form their opinions for them. People who allow the media outlets to think for them and allow these networks to tell them how they should vote. These are the American citizens who I am referring to. When you yield your voice to these people and allow them to vote for you, you surrender your freedom.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;When you no longer think for yourself and allow other to do the thinking for you, when you vote, the government you are electing stops becoming a government of you, for you and by you, the people; and it starts to become a government of them, for them, and by them. Do not mistake me for a disgruntled right winger with a bone to pick with President Barrack Obama. I voted for him and I trust him to do the job I elected him to. Unlike others I know who voted this past fall, I seemed to have actually thought about the decision I was making, rather than just blindly voting for the sake of doctrine. Be reminded, this is not a matter of Conservatism versus Liberalism. This is a matter of exercising your right as an American citizen to make informed and educated voting choices. I am not suggesting that everybody who actually thought about their vote and did research about the candidates would have voted for Barrack Obama, no that is not what I am saying. What I am saying is that people should decide for themselves the government that best suits them. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;When you do the research for yourself and do thinking for your own interest it is only then when you exercise fully&lt;br&gt;your freedom and liberty as an American citizen. When you take in all of the facts and make the decision of your own volition and do not allow the pressure of others to sway you, it is only then that you truly become a patriot of this country and when you truly do "The Spirit of '76" justice. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The Second President of the United States, John Adams, who is by and far my favorite of the Founding Fathers of this country, had a couple things to say on the subject of liberty. He is one of the people in the Continental Congress who while other were fighting with guns and powder for our Independence, he was fighting with words for us. He spent a great deal of his time in the Second Continental Congress fighting for the cause of Independence, we can thank him most especially for when we declared our Independence when we did. This is what he had to say on the matter of Liberty.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;" &lt;span class="body"&gt;Liberty cannot be preserved without general knowledge among the people.&lt;/span&gt;"&lt;br&gt;"&lt;span class="body"&gt;Liberty, according to my metaphysics is a self-determining power in an intellectual agent. It implies thought and choice and power.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="body"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;"&lt;br&gt;"&lt;span class="body"&gt;The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power to endanger the public liberty.&lt;/span&gt;"&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;What exactly is Mr. Adams saying with these statements? I think that these statement speak plainly enough to what Mr. Adams thought about liberty and freedom and the responsibilities of the American people. To have true liberty in this country is to be fully informed with all your opinions. If you are ignorant of the situations going on in Washington D.C. and do not have all the information you need to make proper decisions, then you have no liberty at all. The ignorant cannot be expected to make good decisions. You must think for yourselves to have true liberty in this country, you must make hard decisions. Voting is not a simple thing, it requires a great deal of responsibility. The final statement on liberty can be take several ways, I interpret it to mean that you should not allow one man to hold enough power over you to completely surrender your ability to exercise your liberty.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;That is my whole purpose for parading around with an American flag. I want the American people to remember that this is still a government of, for, and by the people. The elected officials do not hold supreme power over us. If they do something we do not like, it is our responsibility to inform them in a respectful manner. It is one of our First Amendment Rights to peacefully and respectfully assemble to petition to the government our grievances.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;It is my purpose to remind the American people that they should remain responsible citizens of this country of Liberty by educating themselves before they go to polls and before the protest. It is your responsibility to your liberty and freedom to be informed. I am not suggesting that you completely disregard what these talking heads are telling you. I am just saying to question everything you hear. Discern for yourself the speaker's motivation. Gather your information from several different sources, somewhere behind all of the bias is the truth.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I do not care which party you ally yourself with, I do not care whether you are conservative or a liberal. Thinking and being a responsible citizen is not a partisan issue. Do not allow others to sway your opinion, think for you. Do your research and educate yourself and make the most informed decisions you can. This one is simply about me and life.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;College is at a close and now I can focus on flexing my creative muscles. I'll be free to paint more often and write a lot more. Let us not forget that I will also have time to read. Huzzah! I'm really looking forward to free time! &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Plans for the summer:&lt;br&gt;-ART&lt;br&gt;-WRITING&lt;br&gt;-GOING TO CALIFORNIA&lt;br&gt;-GOING TO THE MOVIES&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Not going to be as awesome as last summer, but it should still be enjoyable. I also plan to get a Macbook before I head off to WKU this fall. Yes, I think my aunt may have converted me into a Mac User. Sorry about that. After November I kind of drifted away from here. If I can blame something (and not just my own laziness) I would have to say life got in the way. Amazing how that happens.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I've gone through a lot of changes since the last time I was here. I have changed philosophically, religiously, and I suppose my character has changed a little to. I've always been a laid back individual. You know, taking life as it comes, not really worrying about anything. The kind of guys who lets things be, why fight? Why worry? At least that is how I am generally. I am real easy guy to get along with. Yet, when I step into the realm of politics, that is a completely different matter. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I will be blunt. I dislike ignorant people who think they are intelligent and think they are clever. Nothing aggravates me more than ordinary citizens who think they have it all figured out and stage protests and demonstrations about something they don't have the vaguest idea about. But feels right to them, they are protesting something because they don't understand it. If can't already guess, I really hated all those people who were doing their "Tea Parties" on Wednesday.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;There were a few here in town staging their little protest. I felt compelled to go out and talk to them, to really gauge what they understood of the situation, but I did not. I probably should have, just to see if my assumptions were right about their understanding of the situation. That way I am not just blindly calling them unintelligent about American politics and the tax system. Yet, just from my observations of these "tea parties" and gather one unifying trend. They all hate Obama. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;These people never liked Obama in the first place and they believed the lies that McCain's campaign was throwing out at them. The lies about whether he was really an American citizen. The lies about his supposed Marxism. The lies about how he was a terrorist. Some of these people at these demonstration on TV still actually believe these lies about our President. Of course, Fox News as done nothing to move on about this. They are happily pouring gallons of gasoline on the fire of these disgruntled citizens. They are enraging them to believe certain things about our President. I mean Glen Beck was even wearing a t-shirt at one of these demonstrations that had Obama dressed up like Mao Zedong. (For those who don't know, Mao Zedong was the Chinese Lenin when it came to the Communist Revolution in China.) Fair and Balanced my ass. Please excuse my language, but this stuff really aggravates me and gets me angry.These cable news networks have a responsibility to provide us with information so we can better understand what is going in the world. Instead, they are using their influence to promote their own politics. I am not just talking about Fox News, either. CNN and MSNBC are just as guilty, MSNBC to a lesser extent. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;These people believe what they were being told by the networks and they seriously believe that Obama is going to turn this country into a socialist country. I mean, Fox News was about as subtle as a sack of bricks landing on your head. One day during one of their economy segments they flashed "United Socialist States of America" at the bottom of the screen. Which brings me to my next grief about this whole incident. Fox News making these whole tea party things look like 'grass roots' movements. They are reporting them like they are actual free will demonstrations. You know that isn't true either. Some of these latter protest events may have been locally organized by the common people, but the ones that made the news in the first place were organized by people like Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich. They people who have the least amount of gain when it comes to Obama's Tax policies. They organized these 'tea parties', at least off the record. You can tell, because the people protesting Obama's Taxes are actually protesting against what is most beneficial to them. Obama has just given them, the middle class, the grass roots, the boys of the heartland, the 'real' Americans, the biggest tax break in US History. Whether they like to admit it, Obama is their best friend when it comes to taxes.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Which I suppose is something else that has to do with this. They hate the fact that Obama might actually be a positive thing for these country. I think a lot of this 'movement' (if you could call it that) is just some left over election fallout. These people are still pissed that their candidate, good ole' John McCain lost. They are still upset about it and they are looking for any reason to hate this man. Of course, now I am speaking more broadly. The entire right, or least the prominent ones, are still angry about the outcome of this election. As I have said before, Fox News has stopped being subtle about their politics, they are now happily flaunting them in your face. All because a liberal is President of the United States. To quote Jon Stewart here: "Your confusing tyranny with losing". &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Now, let me make something clear here. I am in no way bashing Conservatism. I may not agree with right wing politics, but I respect them. What I don't respect is that some of the right, more importantly the ones in power and with the most influence of the general public of their party, who do not extend the same courtesy to the left. I am not advocating that everyone become a liberal. I am of the belief that there is no right choice when it comes to matters such as these. Everyone chooses what political ideology to ally themselves with for a particular reason. All I want is for people to think for themselves. Don't just get your news from one source. Get it from several. I skim Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC, I get my headlines from BCC and Al-Jazeera (yes, that Middle-Eastern News company that Bin Laden is always sending his videos to). I gather my information from a vareity of sources to keep myself informed on the situation as much as possible. Which is why I get angry with people whose only source of news is Fox News, Bill O'Reliey and Glen Beck. They are not getting all of the information, nor are they hearing all sides of the argument, even though Fox News would like them to think so.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Well, that was quite a rant. As you can see, I have quite a bone to pick with the ignorant masses of America. I suppose I could quote Adolf Hitler here, and I don't do that often but I think he was right at least in this respect, "There is no end of stupid people". Thank God Almighty. I was beginning to get really sick of the whole process. I am glad to say that my candidate won the election. Now, I can have a conversation with someone and not feel pressured to talk about politics. I am free from having to explain my position to everyone single person in Hopkins County. I feel isolated here when comes to my orientation on the political spectrum. It's like another Red Scare here.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Besides that, it is now officially the time of the year I like to call No-Time-November. It is the end of the semester for college students and therefore everything is due in November. It really isn't much of big deal if you started on some the assignments back when they were assigned rather than waiting until a month until they are due to work on them. So I am pressed to get a lot of my assignments finished because I am the classic definition of a procrastinator. I love the pressured feeling of rushing to get an assignment done. The impending doom associated with failing to get done motivates me to get the assignment done. I should change my habits, but I really must be a glutton for punishment. I thrive under pressure while hating it at the same time.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I am a peculiar individual.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;In other news, I am going to start my own internet radio show. Yeah, exciting stuff. I feel the need to speak my mind on a different medium. I want to be able to talk about current events, a little politics, historical events, art news and book recommendations and reviews. I do not want to count my chickens before they hatch. Granted, something drastic would have to happen for him to lose, it is still not safe to call this election even with only four days left. With the outcome of this election weighing heavy on everyone's minds I'd like to take this moment reassure everyone that no matter what happens in this election, everything is going to be okay.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This is one of the things I immensely dislike about American elections. They are always so very negative. It is always one candidate telling you how horrible the other has been or is going to be if the are elected. The two candidates are always preaching about the doom that will befall the country of the opposing candidate is elected and has his way. It really the most aggravating thing of the whole process, to listen to each candidate and their supporters rail on and on. Our elections are really a sad commentary on Americans as a whole. How ridiculous we really are.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;All of that aside, this very thing is what makes America so great. While it is hard to stand some people and their political opinions, it is what makes this country what it is. We are so divided in our politics we will never be in danger of leaning too far into any political extreme. I don't think that America will ever become so conservative that we'd be a fascist state and I don't think that we'd become so liberal that we'd become socialist. We just have such a diverse political spectrum that become either one of those kinds of countries would be impossible. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Our people disagree too much on politics for a political dictator would have a hard time staying in power. Despite dictators being an absolute leader in their chosen form of government, they depend on their people's happiness to remain in power. Do really think Adolf Hitler would have lasted very long if he didn't think about the Germans wanted. He understood that he was only in power because his people willed it, and it was his job to keep them happy. True, he murdered millions of people. Not just Jews either, he had Gays killed, and other 'ethnically inferior' people. He also had babies who were born with deformities and debilitating diseases euthanized. That last practice, of killing imperfect babies, he actually stopped in 1941, because a majority of his people were opposed to it. Hitler was ever mindful of his people's happiness.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Same with Lenin and Stalin. Do really think that U.S.S.R. would have lasted as long as it did if the Soviets were not happy? It cannot be argued that Stalin did some pretty cruel things while being the dictator of U.S.S.R. Yet, the majority of his people were happy under his control and the trusted him.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;So, that brings me to this election. I do not think this country is going to go socialist, period. We may adopt a few socialist perks, but I doubt highly that this country will turn communist. Whoever is the next President of The United States will have to observe our rights. It is their sworn duty to uphold the Constitution and defend our rights. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;"That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men,
deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That
whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it
is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute
new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing
its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect
their safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that
governments long established should not be changed for light and
transient causes;"&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;That is exert from The Declaration of Independence. It declares that governments are established to defend the rights of their people and they exist because the people they govern allow them to. It also states that when governments become violaters of these rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, it is the right of the people to abolish that government and establish a new one. It also say that we should not just abolish the government over trivial things and that if we are to destroy one form of government it has to be for good reason. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This simple statements proves to me without a doubt that this country will survive. The election will be over and we can finally talk about something else for a change. I am quite tired of talking about it. I've made my mind up a long time ago about who I thought was the best one for this country and I'll stand by that decision. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;It is also my humble honor to inform everyone who reads this blog that I am going to be receiving what can only be called the state of Kentucky's equivalent of the Nobel Peace Prize. Governor Steve Beshear is going to commission me and a few of my education class colleagues with the title of Kentucky Colonel. It is the highest honor of the Commonwealth. I am overwhelmed, and quite frankly I can't believe it because the reason I am being awarded this I don't think deserves it. I am being honored with this title because me and a few of my colleagues in the education program were improving a needy school this past weekend. What I did specifically was paint a hallway of the elementary school with Children's Books' character (i.e. Dr. Seuss, Curious George). Other things that my friends were doing included landscaping and building a wheelchair ramp. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We had got a grant to pay for the supplies to do this job and got a bunch of volunteers to sacrifice their Saturday. We had informed the Governor we were doing this and invited him to join us. Governor Beshear couldn't be there, but he sent some of his staff down and they informed us that he was so impressed with what we were doing that everyone involved was getting a commission as a Colonel. I was floored. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I know join the ranks of such individuals as Pope John Paul II, Winston Churchill, Muhammad Ali, George Clooney, Johnny Depp, George HW Bush, Bill Clinton, Lyndon B. Johnson and Elvis Presley. I am really just honored. I'll post pictures of the event when I get a chance.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Also, I went to downtown Madisonville to take pictures. I blame school and my lack of anything decent to talk about. I could detail everything I do in my life for you, but I have Twitter for that. Even then, I barely make posts on Twitter either. They usually consist of my distaste for mornings (when I usually check Twitter) and my distaste for School and Work. Anyway, the point of the matter being that I haven't had a lot to talk about lately, but now I've got to get somethings off of my chest.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Firstly, let me talk about this wonderful movie called &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist.&lt;/span&gt; I saw a preview for this movie about a month of so ago, I'm not really sure, I've been to the theater way too much this year to be precise about it. I saw the trailer and I was interested. Another movie with a bunch of Indie rock in it? I am totally there. I was pretty excited when I went to see it on Sunday. This movie wasn't very fantastic like &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Juno&lt;/span&gt; was, but it is still a very good teen love story. You don't find very many teen love movies where the love isn't so much about the sex but more about the actual relationship the character's have with one another.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Which is my biggest peeve with society today. There is so much emphasis on the sensual side of relationships. People are all about having sex or making out, they care so much about all this that when it loses all the fun it use to have, there is nothing for their relationship to fall back. When people do not take the time to get to really know the person they are choosing to date or be committed to, what is going to keep the relationship going when the sex is gone? Are you even going to like the person you are with? This was what was so great about&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt; &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Nick and Nora. There was one line in the movie I simply loved, "The Beatles got it right, everyone else tries to make love about kissing or sex, but only the Beatles knew what love was really about, 'I want to hold your hand,'" That is what love is about, its wanting to walk beside someone for the rest of your life and trust them enough and know them enough to hold their hand the entire time. Love is love. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My next beef is with politics. It is coming to the end of America's Presidential Election and I couldn't be happier about it. I am tired of the pundits, I am tired of the smears, and I am tired of people being hateful to each other simply because they disagree on an issue or over a candidate. I tired of all, if you will pardon my french for a moment, the shit that comes with the political season. I am simply tired of all the same garbage being spoon fed to people who don't know any better.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I find during this time of year I find very few people around me, at least in Kentucky, who share my same political sentiments. I find myself very alone. I was called earlier this week, by one of my friends, a person who was so enamored with a certain candidate's charisma that I fail to see how dangerous he is. I took offense to that. This person assumed that I was an idiot because I was not on the same side of the Political fence as they were. They assumed that I had not thought about my decision like a responsible voter should, they assumed I was only voting for a person because I liked them better than the other, they had assumed so many things about me. I hate that. People should never assume anything. I try my very best not to do so, doesn't always pan out.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I chose my candidate for very good reasons. One, I believe he is a capable leader; two, I believe he is going to be a positive influence on Government; and three,&amp;nbsp; because he and I share very similar views. For someone to think I was not responsible about my voting, to think that I was just following a trend because everyone else was, to think that I hadn't thought about what I was doing offended me to the point where I was sick. Sick of everything having to do with politics.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I hate what politics does to people. It turns very nice friends into bitter enemies. I also hate how this election has turned into just about every other election before it. It has gotten to the point where the candidate's don't care so much about the issues anymore as they do about getting elected. The have fallen back into the old election tradition of outlining their strengths by targeting their opponents weakness. The election has come down to this" "Vote for me because the other guy is a bastard,". &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;How about this candidates? Can you tell why you would be a good leader without pointing out how terrible your opponent is? Can prove to me that your capable of running this country without have to say that if your opponent was elected how disastrous everything would be? Can you be honest with me and the country? Are you really running because you care about the people you say you care about, or are running for the simple fact that you want to win? &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Politicians are public servants. I find my free time to be in limited supply as of late. I apologize. So how has the rest of my summer been? Pretty good, I'd say.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I went back out to California for my vacation. It was pretty nice to see all of my family again twice in a year. I really miss them. It is kind of sad been 2,000 miles away from them. Especially when all of my cousin are having kids. It is a shame I am not there to greet these new additions to the family. But enough about that.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This time, returning to California was purely recreational. The first thing we did was go to The Happiest Place on Earth. Disneyland. That is always fun. I love Disneyland. It was pretty standard fun day. We rode all of the rides we usually do and enjoyed each other's company. Although, it seemed like my dad wasn't having as much fun as the rest of us. While we were there we saw a little production where little ten year olds can fight Darth Vader and Darth Maul. That was funny and cute.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We also went out to Seal Beach Pier to have dinner with a few friends and my favorite Uncle Jim's family. I finally got to meet my cousin Jamie's husband, Ian. He is pretty cool. I like him. I pointed out to my mother that in the eight years we lived in California, she never once took me to the beach. This was the first time I had ever been to Seal Beach. She laughed, and told me she never took us to the beach, because she didn't want to have to chase me around and that the water isn't always the cleanest.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;We also went Mini-Golfing another night and that was loads of fun. Yo Bob is a hoot. We didn't exactly play the rules when comes to mini-golf, but in reality, who does?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;One of my favorite things I did while I was in California was going to the Griffith Observatory with my Aunt. That was awesome. I am a big astronomy nerd, so this was a very entertaining trip. Seeing all the stuff the observatory had on display. I got to look at an actual moon rock and few meteorites. I could have bought a meteorite, if I had a couple hundered dollars. It would have made a nice paper weight.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My second trip to California was pretty much awesome. Also, let's not forget, I got a car while I was out there.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Now that the summer is over, College is up and running again. I graduate this semester from MCC with my AA. Pretty exciting. I also getting ready for my transfer into the College of Education. I have an education class and I get to observe different class rooms. I watched a kindergarten class the other day. So this is going to be a demanding semester.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Also, I saw the last two movies on my summer movie list. The Dark Knight and WALL-E. I recommend both to you HIGHLY. It was 92 degrees outside here in Kentucky. Anyone who's lived in Kentucky knows what that means, humidity. Not just normal humidity, more like OH-MY-GOODNESS-THIS-MUST-BE-WHAT-HELL-FEELS-LIKE humidity. The kind of humidity that punches you in the face when you walk outside and makes you think strongly about going back inside where the air condition is. It is the only thing I dislike about summer. I don't like the feeling of taking a shower and then going outside and feeling like I haven't had one by only standing for 10 minutes. It's ridiculous. But I'm just ranting here.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Besides humidity, I do love everything else that comes with summer. One of the thing I love the most about summer is summer movies. My Sweet Lord Aragorn, they rock. They are always full of action, excitement and even if they aren't very good when it comes to movie standards, they are still enjoyable. I look forward to summer for the movies. This year has been probably the best so far and there is still one more I need to see. Last summer I had POTC: AWE, &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Transformers&lt;/span&gt;, and &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Spider-Man 3&lt;/span&gt;. The latter was not worth my money. I didn't enjoy it in the least it failed to live up to the standard its predecessor had set. Seems to be a trend with third movie in superhero trilogies. (Here's looking at you &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;X-Men 3&lt;/span&gt;).Pirates, however was fun and awesome and didn't really take itself seriously. It knew if you were watching it, you were a fan and you would enjoy no matter how miserably the plot fell on its face. The same was true with &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Transformers&lt;/span&gt;. It was made to be a summer film. It wasn't anything spectacular in terms of plot, but the what kept you watching was the action and the people involved.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This summer has been a blast so far, in terms of movies. Originally on my list of movies to see were just three Pixar's new film, &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;WALL-E&lt;/span&gt;, the sequel to an excellent Batman film, &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Batman Begins&lt;/span&gt;, &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;The Dark Knight&lt;/span&gt; and The fourth &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Indiana Jones&lt;/span&gt; . However, I managed to squeeze two unexpected films into that list. The first of which was &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Ironman. &lt;/span&gt;That was such an excellent movie, I saw it twice on opening weekend and once more after. Robert Downey, Jr. was such an excellent cast for the part of Tony Stark, a half-drunk, genius, billionaire playboy. The action was great and the plot was actually the entire center of the film, rather than just an excuse to string action sequences together. I recommend it to anyone, even if you are not a superhero fan. It is an extremely enjoyable movie.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The second addition to my list was &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;The Incredible Hulk.&lt;/span&gt; Saw the preview for this movie ahead of &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Ironman&lt;/span&gt; and thought it was worth a look. I mean it had Edward Norton and Liv Tyler. C'mon? Is any other reason? Edward Norton doesn't do crappy movies. So I went to see it and again enjoyed myself. It wasn't as good as &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Ironman. &lt;/span&gt;However, the movie wasn't horrible either. The action scenes in the movie are a band-aid for the subpar plot. But Edward Norton does such a good job, you wouldn't care. But you might want to stay away if you aren't a superhero fan or a fan of Hulk in general.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Third movie I have seen this summer was the fourth Indiana Jones movies. I love Indy and everything that comes with him. Steven Speilberg, Harrison Ford, John Williams, History and Archeology. The Indiana Jones movies are so fun and campy that it is hard not to like them. I went to see this simply because I loved&amp;nbsp; the three previous ones. I wasn't disappointed, but I was impressed either. I was hoping for more old school filming and less CGI, however, that wasn't the case. Sure the movie was film on real location and on real sets, but you know George Lucas. That man has to run everything through a computer. So the part of the film had that wonderful CGI gleam and that made the in the immersion into the film a little difficult. Out of the all the plots of the Indy films, I like this one the least. It got a little less historical and little more sci-fi, but that's just me. I still enjoyed it. Besides Indy movies are action sequences interrupted by plot to begin with, anyway.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The other two movies on my list have yet to come out. But I am looking forward to being impressed. I let you know what I think when I see them.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;This was a rather unexpectedly large post. I post Part Two of my Summer sometime later.
